How Venmo fees work
The Venmo goods and services (G&S) fee is 2.99% of the payment, paid by the seller. Business profile payments cost 1.9% + $0.10, and Instant Transfer costs 1.75%, minimum $0.25, maximum $25.00.
Sending and receiving personal payments between friends and family is free. Fees apply when a payment is marked as goods and services, when you are paid through a business profile, and when you move money out of Venmo with Instant Transfer. The seller or recipient pays these fees — they are deducted from the amount received.

Required payment = (desired net + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − percentage ÷ 100). Minimum and maximum fees are applied before final rounding when they are reached.

The seller. The fee is deducted from the payment you receive, so the buyer pays the amount they send.
Is the Instant Transfer fee worth it?
Instant Transfer usually arrives within minutes for 1.75%, minimum $0.25, maximum $25.00. Standard transfers are free if you can wait one to three business days.
Can I use a different rate?

What is sent to an invoice?
Only the payment amount is sent. Your estimated fee and net payout are not included.
